Today's Globe and Mail (along with many news sources) are reporting Myspace's launch of Impact, a political portal into the US candidates pages available on their service. Candidates are not just hesitantly embracing but "bear hugging" the Internet and this new service.
WIFM (What's In it For Me) you ask?
This young, grassroots, Internet-friends site is going to be a force in "digital [political] lawn signs" whether the established political leaders and hopefuls like it or not. Their young (and old)constituents are not just watching TV or listening to the radio but spending loads of time on the Internet. And in marketing you need to be where your best voters...er... prospects are!
Are YOU being stumbled upon when someone searches for your product, service, passion or viewpoint?
In the olden days (what... 10 years ago?), if someone wanted to spend money they had to "mine" the printed Yellowpages or read a daily newspaper to understand what was available to them. Not now.
Do you want to be there, on screen when a potential "follower" of yours is looking for you?
If yes, talk to me.
