This week research firm Media-Screen, released a report that found current US Broadband Internet users are spending 48% (approximately one hour and 40 minutes) of their spare time online in a typical weekday and the trend is increasing across all age groups. As of last year, 59% of households in Canada have Broadband access according to eMarketer.
If our time stats are similar to the US, this to me is a MAJOR DEAL. Over half our population spends over an hour online a day!
If you are an advertiser on traditional media, and haven't yet started figuring out how to advertise your offering on the Interenet... Get with it!
Are you still subscribing to these silly excuses?
- “The internet is too new”
- “No one shops for my type of business online”
- “Internet advertising is a waste of money”
- “Why would I advertise online when can advertise in the newspaper/radio/yellowpages/some other old method of advertising?”
Call me.
