There is one thing that sticks in my mind from all the conversations I had with business owners and marketers at the London Biz Expo this week.
Even though almost every person we asked if they had used Google in the last 24 to 48 hours said "absolutely", there was a very low knowledge of how to advertise on it. When asked when they last used a yellow page directory their answers were sketchy, but most businesses are spending money on yellow pages. Seems very incongruent.
As reported in October 2's Globe and Mail... "Google has an impressive reach: In Canada, 86 per cent of Internet users tap into its search engine, compared with 61 per cent in the United States, according to ComScore MediaMetrix data."
If 86% of people regularly (as in every 48 hours!) read one magazine, or used one brand of yellow pages, or listened to one radio station or watched a single TV station, we (as in advertisers) would be freaking out, clammering to have our message on that medium.
The phone lines are open to start your Google Ads.
